Physiotherapy Intensives

A week-long physiotherapy intensive with one to two 45 minute daily sessions provides focused, high-frequency intervention that can accelerate progress toward specific physical goals. This concentrated approach enhances motor learning, supports neuroplasticity, and helps overcome plateaus in traditional therapy.

FIRST OFFERING/NOW REGISTERING:

August 18th-22nd at our new office location (as of June) 430-D Dovercourt in Winnipeg, Manitoba

What is a PT Intensive?

A physiotherapy intensive is a short-term, high-frequency program designed to target specific goals through daily, focused sessions—typically one to two times per day over the course of a week at our office.  This concentrated approach allows for repeated practice, faster skill acquisition, and greater carryover of therapeutic gains into daily life.

Child learning physical therapy

Who is an intensive good for?

Good pediatric candidates for a physiotherapy intensive include children who:

  • Have a specific functional goal (e.g., learning to walk, improving balance, transitioning to a walker or wheelchair).

  • Are recovering from surgery or injury and need focused rehab (e.g., orthopedic procedures).

  • Have developmental delays or neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, stroke, or genetic syndromes.

  • Are approaching a milestone or transition, like starting school or a new sport/activity.

  • Have plateaued in regular therapy and need a boost in progress.

  • Are motivated and able to tolerate increased therapy frequency, with family support to reinforce skills at home.

Making the most of summer break!

Our inaugural intensive is taking place August 18th-22nd!

This  physiotherapy intensive is a great option for families looking to make the most of the summer months. For children who usually receive physiotherapy through school, an intensive can help maintain and build on their progress during the summer break when school-based services are paused. It’s also a convenient choice for busy families who may be traveling, as it provides focused support in a short time frame. Additionally, intensives are ideal for out-of-town clients who want to access specialized care without the need for ongoing weekly appointments.
